Restoring Functionality to Your HVAC System
This service includes a full cleaning of one HVAC system, which supplies conditioned air to both the basement and first-floor levels of the home. The cleaning process is designed to remove dust, debris, and microbial contaminants from the ductwork and internal HVAC components while ensuring safe, compliant access and proper system restoration.
System Preparation and Access
- System shutdown — The main power supply to the HVAC unit is turned off to ensure safe access during cleaning.
- Access door installation — Two access doors are cut into both the supply and return ductwork. These openings allow technicians to reach all internal duct surfaces.
- UL-rated sealing — After cleaning, all access doors are sealed using UL-rated materials to maintain system integrity and safety.
Duct Isolation and Negative Pressure Cleaning
- Duct isolation — Supply and return ducts serving the basement and first floor are isolated to ensure controlled airflow during cleaning.
- Negative pressure cleaning — The ductwork is placed under negative pressure using a HEPA-filtered negative air machine rated at 99.97% efficiency.
- High-pressure agitation — Technicians clean the ducts using high-pressure whips and lances to dislodge debris and contaminants.
- All equipment is wiped down and sanitized before entering the home.
HVAC Unit Internal Cleaning
- HEPA vacuuming — Internal HVAC components are cleaned using a HEPA vacuum to remove dust and particulate buildup.
- Spor-Klenz sanitization — Components are sanitized with Spor-Klenz by Steris, a professional-grade disinfectant.
- This includes cleaning the EVAP coil, supply grilles, return grilles, and all registers connected to the system.
